Administration

Administration authorities of the Department are the Head and the General Assembly of the Department.

The General Assembly is the highest authority and has a wide range of responsibilities. Members are all academic staff, as well as one representative of each of the following bodies (a) technical staff, (b) teaching assistants, (c) undergraduate students and (d) graduate students. The General Assembly gathers ordinarily twice per semester and extra-ordinarily whenever required, as defined by the Internal Regulation of the institute. Apart from those matters explicitly mentioned by the law, the General Assembly has authority to decide upon all matters not assigned by the law to a different body.

The Head of the Department along with the Deputy Head is elected every two academic years. The Head has a series of responsibilities explicitly defined by the law and the Internal Regulation. Among his/her other duties, the Head summons the General Assembly and supervises the academic and teaching work of all members of the Department.

Academic staff, curriculum course modules and scientific fields of specialization under the Electronics Engineering area are grouped under a number of Divisions. Division administration is carried out by the Director and the Assembly. The Director along with the Deputy Director is elected every academic year.

Currently the Department of Electronics Engineering has two Divisions, namely, Division A: “Electronics and Computers” and Division B: “Communications and Networks”.
